300 L softie and LPS tank, 14 months in
Vervangt je huidige werk-build. Je kunt het ongedaan maken.
Went with soft corals and a couple of easy LPS on purpose. I travel for work and wanted something that survives a week of my partner 'just feeding them'.
Dry rock start, so the first six months were mostly me photographing diatoms. The toadstools are now the size of dinner plates and the mushrooms are trying to take over the left island. The pair of Banggais stay under the overhang all day and come out at feeding time like they own the place. Coral beauty has been a model citizen so far, no nipping at the duncans. I know that can change.
No dosing, 10% water change weekly, skimmer cup emptied whenever it smells bad enough.

Proof you don't need a wall of Acropora for a tank to look good. How do you keep the star polyps off the main rock?

They live on their own rock in the sand, with a gap all round. I trim whatever tries to bridge it.

Sensible stocking. One note: two Banggais work as a true pair, but if they turn out to be two males it gets ugly fast, so keep watching them.
